Canterbury Phoenix 2.0 Pro SG - Black

Canterbury Phoenix 2.0 Pro SG - Black

Phoenix 2.0 Pro SG by Canterbury - Black

The Canterbury Phoenix 2.0 Pro SG is a soft‑ground rugby boot crafted for players who demand power, traction, and control on wet, muddy surfaces. Its hybrid knit upper, asymmetric “Mono Wrap” collar/tongue, and mixed-metal‑and‑TPU stud configuration make it ideal for dynamic forwards and powerful loose‑forwards.

Features:

  • Versatile - great for backs or loose forwards
  • Soft Ground boot
  • Built with premium materials and advanced tech, the Pro delivers professional-level performance at a more accessible price. Designed for strong, mobile forwards—especially flankers and number 8s—who need both traction and agility. Ideal for competitive club matches and developing elite players.

   Outsole:

  • Lightweight TPU outsole reinforces stability, energy return, and responsiveness during acceleration
  • Six metal studs with two rhombus‑shaped TPU support studs (8 in total) for exceptional grip and stability
  • Strategically placed studs aid scrummaging and directional traction; studs use standard thread size for easy replacement

   Upper:

  • Hybrid Vaposkin and monomesh upper—combining durability and soft weight
  • Mono Wrap collar/tongue: Asymmetric elasticated knit collar and neoprene tongue wrap lock the foot securely, enhancing power transfer
  • Reinforced toe box and heel counter for protection and structure

   Fit & Support & Comfort:

  • Standard (“power last”) fit with a wide forefoot and locked-in toe box ideal for broader foot shapes typical of forwards
  • 3D molded heel counter and padded, wrapped tongue help stabilize the foot through contact zones
  • EVA or Ortholite footbed offers shock absorption and ventilation, reducing pressure and heat build-up

   Performance:

  • Excellent hold in scrums and rucks, even in challenging muddy terrain, thanks to metal studs and supportive TPU inserts
  • Combination of Mono Wrap locking fit & rigid knit upper improves how force is transmitted during drives
  • Low-profile outsole and lightweight upper support quick directional changes without sacrificing durability
  • TPU reinforcements and robust knit materials withstand the rigors of forward play throughout a season

*All sizes are US Men's

Studs: Soft Ground boots arrive with a tightening tool. It is important to tighten studs before using your boots for the first time.

    Care:

    • Knock off loose mud to remove dirt from uppers and studs
    • Wipe down with a damp cloth using cool water (not hot water)
    • Stuff boots with newspaper or paper towels to retain shape and absorb moisture—excess moisture can weaken seams and cause the uppers to separate from the soleplate.
    • Condition leather with beeswax or leather balm
    • Check and replace studs
    • Let the boots air dry (avoid heat sources) for 24-48 hours
    • Store boots in a dry, ventilated environment to prevent mold or mildew - ventilated boot bags work well
